AIM for Success - Parent Program December 2nd.
Huffines PTA is proud to bring the third installment of the AIM for Success programs to the parents and students at Huffines Middle School. Aim For Success is an independent, non-profit, educational organization that promotes a lifestyle of excellence by encouraging the development of self control, self respect, and self discipline. Through live presentations students are encouraged to develop strong, responsible character as they deal with sexual pressure. Aim For Success believes parents should be their child's primary sex educator. Therefore, parents are given an opportunity to preview the information and teaching methods used in the student presentations. This 60 minute program also provides creative information to help parents know why, when and how to talk to their children about sex.
Here is an outline of the topics that will be discussed at the Parent meeting and in the student presentations.
Achieve Success
"How to Live the Sexual Abstinence Lifestyle."
This is the third of three Aim For Success programs. It teaches ways to remain sexually abstinent after reviewing the main reasons to be sexually abstinent. Students can see the three programs in any order. It is not necessary to see Aim For Success or Freedom to Succeed first. The following outline requires at least 60 minutes.
Program Outline (Grades 7 – 12) 6th Grade Students will receive age appropriate information and materials. For a look at that outline go to http://www.aimforsuccess.org/AS-ESoutline.asp

Reflections Art Contest Theme "WOW" Deadline October 30th
When children express themselves through words, pictures, movement, music, photography and other art forms, they grow intellectually. They learn to analyze their thoughts, feelings and ideas. They learn to look at things, people and experiences in a fresh and exciting way and they become more interested in the ideas and works of others. The Reflections Program also helps parents encourage and recognize the continuous self-discovery process of their children.
The PTA's Reflections Program is designed to enhance rather than replace a quality arts education. It provides opportunities for students to express themselves and to receive positive recognition for their artistic efforts. Parents, teachers and community members all play a critical role in fostering a positive learning environment for children. Supporting the Reflections Program is one way adults can help create that environment.
