Texas Recycles Day!

Please join the PTA by utilizing the City of Lewisville’s curbside Recycle program. This is a great program to help reduce the land fill. Not all items made out of plastic, glass, metal, or paper are accepted in the city’s curbside program, so be sure to consult the list on the cart lid to determine what is appropriate for this program.

Here are some tips when participating in curb side recycling program.

• Remove all caps from plastic containers, put them in the bin separately.
• Rinse out all containers, to remove residual contents.
• Do not put plastic bags in the bins, return them to the grocery store, to recycle them.
• Do not put hazardous waste in the cart, the city offers a program on the second Saturday of each month to collect Hazardous waste and electronics.

Huffines PTA Ink Cartridge Recycle

You can also help by sending any empty ink and toner cartridges to the Huffines office. The PTA will sort and recycle the cartridges with local companies. For every Dell, Lexmark, HP and Kodak the PTA receives a $3.00 ,per cartridge, reward to be used at Staples. We can redeem this reward for any purchase in the store and online. We also participate in  the Cartridges for Kids program, which gives money for other cartridges and an array of other electronic items.
